What is a DropBox Visit?
You may be most familiar with synchronous telemedicine visits- like our Real Time Visits. These synchronous visits are conducted in REAL TIME, similar to Face Time or video conferencing. These types of visits are great for those patients who have the time and wish to discuss their skin concerns live, or would like evaluation of their skin concerns in real time.
Our DropBox Visit is another form of telemedicine. DropBox Visits are considered asynchronous (store & forward) telemedicine visits. Both synchronous and asynchronous telemedicine are recognized by the state of Illinois, however this can differ amongst states. These visits creatively utilize patient provided information (patient provided photos, and the same expertly crafted intake form used in our Real Time Visits) via our HIPPA compliant electronic health platform, PracticeQ. There is NO real time visit that takes place, other than an included follow up phone call if the patient desires.. Within the dermatology specialty, common derm conditions can easily be diagnosed by obtaining a thorough history and images. Both of which can be obtained with our intake form and photo review on PracticeQ.
DropBox Visits are great options for those who are technologically savvy, would like a quick and convenient solution for common skin conditions, or those who find it challenging to carve out time to seek care in an office setting (college students, parents, moms with young children, those with full time employment).
Additionally, if the patient desires, every DropBox Visit or DropBox Follow Up includes ONE 15 minute follow up PHONE CALL within 2 business days of your provided diagnosis to address any questions/concerns you may have.
